About POMSS

The Pakistan Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society (POMSS) is the only registered national professional society dedicated to the advancement of obesity medicine and metabolic surgery in Pakistan.

It is affiliated with the global society for obesity and metabolic surgery known as IFSO or International Federation for Surgery and Other Therapies for Obesity. POMSS is affiliated with the Middle East North African Chapter (IFSO-MENAC).

POMSS serves as a unified platform to promote excellence in obesity treatment through surgical and metabolic interventions.

Our society represents the largest group of Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgeons and other specialties dedicated to the treatment of Obesity in Pakistan. As the only national society dedicated exclusively to obesity and metabolic surgery, POMSS has emerged as a unifying platform for professionals committed to transforming the framework of obesity management in Pakistan.

Remarkably, in less than a year, POMSS has organized workshops, seminars, symposia, and even launched of the first-ever Bariatric Surgery Fellowship in Pakistan, signaling a new era of standardized training and academic excellence
